There is a practice of magick called "Santeria", and these people do sacrifice animals such as goats and sheep. However, I would be hard-pressed to call these practitioners "witches" because they feel the need to take away an innocent life to gain power. I find it disgusting.
As a witch, I don't sacrifice. Most witches revere nature, thus, it would make no sense to kill. And as a Wiccan witch, my Goddesses and Gods don't require blood to be pleased. And trust me, if being Wiccan or a witch required sacrifice, I would take no part in it.

No. Many witches have cats as familiars. Why would a witch kill a cat? Harming life goes against our teachings. As for Satanists, they don't perform ritual sacrifice. That was made up by Hollywood.
You're a horrible, sick person.

In modern times - No witches and satanists do not, but those who practice Santeria do occasionally sacrifice chickens....But there was time when most religions practiced some type of sacrifice, even Hebrews so you can't really categorize a religion as evil just for offering life - the most precious thing we have - to our deities. They didn't know any better at the time and thought they were doing what their deities wanted.
And lat0ria, I really hope you're kidding, otherwise I suggest getting an appointment with a good therapist.

Not sure if they do,I would be bothered by that because cats are fine animals, now a sheep or a goat or something I could care less. The jewish people are however running a breeding program to come up with bulls or steers or something worthy of sacrifice when they rebuild some temple,so if you're bothered by animal sacrifice you may want to talk to them. Personally the only thing that bothers me about sacrificing a bull is that if they aren't having a BBQ later it's just a waste of good beef.

Apparently, the FBI has done extensive testing into this and hasn't been able to find a single documented case of ritual sacrifice among long-term Wiccans or Satanists in the whole of the USA.
Unfortunately there is a certain breed of teenager who will adopt the word 'witch' or 'satanist' to 'justify' perverse tendencies. If you let those types of people taint the whole of two very healthy and well-established religious practices, then we're all in trouble.

ok first of all, you cant catagorise witches with saitinists.
Wiccans (witches) dont even beleive in the devil much less worship him. secondly. I cant speak for saitinists but Wiccans motto is harm none love all so It would be very much against the wiccan religion to kill anything, Its a nature based religion and the value life greatley. probably more then most religions. Read up on the subject instead of asking ignorant questions.

Funny. Me, a Nature-worshipper, kill cats to honor Nature-Gods( some of whom are represented as cats or have cats as their sacred animal). Am I the only one who sees the flawed judgement here?

No. Cruelty to animals is forbidden explicitly in the code of Satanism, and though I don't think animals are pointed out so particularly in any branch of witchcraft, they're nature-lovers generally and don't go in for it either.

No but I know some Christians that kill them for fun. I may be mistaken but didn't the Jews kill animals for sacrifice?
