I've just started to sleep with a guy that is so quiet during sex that I don't even know when he orgasms, I personally don't orgasm during penetrative sex so it is just for him really! He is very shy about talking about sex but quite confident doing it! How can I tell?

Be open about it to him. There is nothing wrong with talking about it. Tell him in subtle ways.

Surely you can tell that he stops moving after the orgasm? Is there absolutely no change in his facial expression whatsoever when he orgasms? - if there isn't then maybe he is a robot devoid of emotion. (Not meant literally but metaphorically).
Perhaps spice up your sex life by trying new things - this may make his orgasm more noticeable and you might get one too! (you never know...)
Also, try to make some kind of signalling system during sexual intercourse. It is important to communicate during sexual activities. Try telling him to give you a little squeeze once he has orgasmed. Hope this helps, and all the best with the sex.

Usually there will be a white milky discharge when a male orgasms, so if you see this it should be a dead giveaway, also he should be able to make you orgasm if he can't maybe you should tell him so maybe he can improve.
