What's a chicken brick? What do the instructions say?

It would depend on the size of the chicken. A medium bird at 200c or gas 6 will take hour and a quarter. Test thick part of thigh with skewer, if juice runs clear, dins dins is ready.
Habitat used to sell chicken bricks for £5, that was back in the 70s though.
The enamelled roasting tin does the same thing as a brick. You can get one for less than a tenner. Brilliant for that cheaper cut of meat, slowly cooked. Just like your Momma used to make!

Same as usual 20 minutes per pound plus 20 minutes. Chicken brick is useful for keeping the chicken moist. Wish I could afford one, I am having visions of chickens my mother used to cook and I can almost smell them.

I give a 5lb chicken about 2 hours. Today it cooked for 3 and was starting to get a bit dry. You can add potatoes and make nice roasters at the same time.
