Personally I perfer just doing it in the oven for 90 minutes. However one of the key things is to make sure that the potato is a Jacket Potato variety. Many normal pots lie Maris Piper and common white shrivel to minute sizes. not sure why, perhaps its water content or something. Get a proper jacket potato, prick it a few times. Whack it in a hot over for 90 minutes and it'll come out fluffy inside, lovely and crispy skin. Just add a ton of butter and enjoy.

moisture and over cooking cause the shriveled appearance in a potato. Lessen the cooking time in the microwave to 5 minutes wrapped in plastic wrap. If you want a nice crispy skin. do 3 minutes in the microwave, coat the potato in olive oil and finish in the oven at a high heat for about 20 to 30 more minutes. Try to get the freshest potato possible. Moisture and sugar build up in potatoes after being in cold storage for long periods of time. Make sure the outer skin is firm and thin before purchasing.

For one large potato (hangs out of my palm on each side), I do about 11 minutes in the nuker. If your potato is smaller than that, you are probably overcooking it. Try about 7, squeeze it, see if it's tender and fluffy... if not, do another 1½-2 minutes, check again, and so on.
Also, be sure your potatoes are fresh, and that you haven't had to cut off any roots at the eyes. Roots and sprouting saps moisture from the potato.

Depends on the mass of the potato. Three 2" diameter potatoes "nuke" quite nicely in a E/800W microwave oven quite nicely. A 6x3" baking potato will take a bit longer. Potato type matters too. Whites will tend to crinkle more than reds. Try Desiree, Maris Piper or King Edwards.

Try 5 in the mocrowave and 35-40 in the oven, it's far better. Or just 1 hr 10 in the oven for the best result. You are making it too moist with 10 mins in the microwave (and possibly overcooking it).

Put a dab of butter onto the jacket then insert the potato into some tin foil. Wrap it up and shove it in the oven! Mmmm nothing compares.

Don't cook in the microwave - cook for 90 mins in the oven instead.

20 minutes? you must have a turbo oven! Perhaps you are doing them too quickly. 200 deg for about 1 hour should do the trick. Prick the skins, rub with oil and rub in plenty of salt.
Do not know about nuking them - I hate doing them that way.

55mins-1hr+ in (fan-assisted) oven, about 200 degrees, although some people say the higher the better, prepare potatoe by scrubbing the skin, put on baking tray, sprinkle with (only a little) sea salt crystals!!
