I have sharp pain in my ears, doctor told me it`s because of tmj, he has started straightening my teeth , may be it`s soon but I guess it`s not working, I`ve read many people use splints and it really works, does any body has any idea what should i do? i almost can`t do anything... fortunately it`s just my left ear or else i couldn`t survive!

Most dentists will make a bite splint for you. I'm surprised that yours hasn't done this yet. TMJ can cause a host of aches and pains. Talk to your dentist. Also, I would suggest medical massage therapy.

I have the same problem. Kept going to the doctor for ear pain, they gave me anti-biotics which of course did not help. Then one doctor figured it out. What works best for me is to lie on my right side in bed (it's my right ear that hurts) with a heating pad under my ear and jaw. It helps to relax the muscles and ease the pain.

Good luck.
