Two decades later, a wave of Schwartz members began arriving in Philadelphia: Abraham Schwartz in 1727.

Everyone's slightly right. There are Schwazeneggers in Austria (obviously) but the etiology of the name is German, which is the language spoke in Austria. It translates to "dark corner" or "black corner" and would come from the tradition of referring to people in the days before surnames had evolved by using geographic references. So someone with such a surname would have descended from someone who used to live over by a dark corner along a road or in a village.

It is Austrian, as is Arnold, and there is great speculation that he was of royal blood because before his surgeries, he exhibited the Hapsburg Jaw. If you've never heard of it, look it up on Yahoo, it's interesting.
