I use anydvd to decrypt, dvd shrink to compress and encode and nero to burn.

Over the past couple of weeks with newer movies, I keep getting an error messege as soon as dvd shrink is done encoding.

It's a burn error messege that says VOB files were missing or did not allocate correctly.

HAs anyone else encountered this problem or know hot to correct it?

please note that burning DVDs when they do not belong to you is illegal.

I would instead use DVD decryptor to extract the .vobs,
http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/

and if you find burning dvds to be less efficient on your DVD-R's , you should learn to rip it, which causes no problems compared to burning it, is more efficient on space

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/ and again http://www.mrbass.org/ provides some guides
though i prefer using http://sourceforge.net/projects/gordianknot as a freeware rippiing tool

you should probably use dvddecryptor by nero i think anyway its way better at that and if you still have problems try alcohol 120% its pretty good at that also other than that good luck
