you'd have to understand what tarot is to understand why. The Jews have a book called Qabalah. Unlike Christians that have the Old Testement, The Jews had the Torah, Zohar and Qabalah. Torah (the first five books of the Old Testement) is the literal meaning of God's word (Letter of the Law for Christians) The Zohar was the Spirit of the Law and the Qabalah was the mystical aspect of the Law. All 3 were considered to be needed to understand God's word. Anyhoo, the Tarot is nothing more than a pictorial print of Qabalah. It is based upon the Three of Life in the Qabalah. I reckon some folks believed that since it was Qabalistic, it cld be used to tell the future. In reality, Tarot was not created for that. Rabbina felt that man could ascend the Tree of Life to become one with God (actually that is biblical) and as the Tarot is a blueprint, they felt the tarot would give them a gauge as to where they were at on the Tree of Life.

Because coincidences happen and our brains are wired to find connections between things. Once we see a connection (Tarot said this would happen and it did) we ignore all the things that the Tarot cards said which didn't come true. Part of that is also from open ended predictions - If I say "you will win the lotter" and don't put a time frame on it, if you win the lotter in ten years my prediction was correct. Anything else I predicted you won't hold against my prediction because it MIGHT still happen in the future.

It's the same sort of thing as horoscopes and TV mediums. There is always something that you can interpret as relevant to yourself. Tarot cards are purposefully vague for this reason.

Note: While I don't believe that there is any truth in horoscopes or TV mediums, the vagueness of Tarot can help you make decisions or to look at things in a different light.

I work with tarot cards and they work, huge skeptic that I am and have always been. I can no more explain this scientifically outside of the Buddhist concepts of logic of emptiness than I can anything else science has yet to toy with... like quarks and so on...

It's the same need that makes them believe in god, desperation.
Some people are so desperate to have an answer, that they'll turn to prognostication (which is sheer fantasy) or religion (another sheer fantasy).
Intellectual cowardice is the greatest driving force behind these two things. If you cannot face reality, then the most obvious thing do to is believe in a magic sky-pixie or believe that someone can divine the answers for you using sticks or cards ect...

It's said in the spirit world one can see sounds and hear colors.
It's telepathy and magnetism. Try it and see if you don't get relevant answers to your questions. But don't get obsessed with it. That lets negative (outside), influences in.

There is no scientific explanation or anything about it that really works. It is a satanic use of the cards similar to playing poker for money or a ouija board. If we needed to know our futures then GOD woulod have given us a way to do so. It is not something that we need. The only future event of any importance is the Judgment. It will come. Are you ready?

To become a real Christian, we are told that we must HEAR the WORD in John 6:45, Jesus said, “It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” We are also told so in Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are told the we must BELIEVE in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We are also told so in Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” and in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. We are told that we must REPENT (or turn from sin) in Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Also in Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST in Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We are also told in 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are to be BAPTIZED according to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” and Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. We are to CONTINUE to be FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH according to Revelation 2:10c Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We also know that Paul wrote in Romans 14:12 each of us shall give account of himself to God. It is important that we not ignore what is written, change what is written, or add to what is written in the New Testament which is our Christian Guide. Have a great week.
