I'm eating lots of egg to gain some muscle and the eggs I bought were labelled to be fortified with Omega-3 so I wonder whether I should eat the yolk or otherwise because Omega-3 is good for the brain and the nerveous system.

Well, they are fortified, not naturally occuring, so it depends on where the manufacturer injected the eggs with the Omega-3s (there are some non-organic eggs where this is the case - they have ground up fish added. Also, orange juice with Omega-3 has ground up sardines on the label). If you are buying the flax seed Omega 3 products, then the benefit to the heart and nervous system is not proven. Studies have NOT been conducted on the vegetable sources of Omega-3s, only the animal sources (fish).

Don't worry about buying fortified Omega-3 products. If you eat 2 servings of fish per week, you are getting the recommended doses. That could be a piece of salmon on Friday, and some tuna on a salad on Tuesday.

Omega-3 is a fatty acid and most of the fat in eggs is in the yolk. The whites are mostly albumin, a protein.

It's in the yolk. The hens are usually fed addition flax seed to increase O3.
