I don't think it is as much about finding fault or judging someone but more about trying to help or offer advice to someone.

It never says DON'T cast the mote out of thy brother's eye. It says to FIRST cast the beam out of thine own eye THEN cast out the mote from thy brother's eye. The bible says DON'T judge others, not look at your self and THEN judge others. I think if this were about judging others it would say something like

"Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; instead of trying to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."

In my opinion this quote is saying before you go giving life changing advice to people make sure you have the knowledge and wisdom to do so.

It means to examine your own behavior. Many people do this and many people do not.

However, some people use it as an excuse to make people feel they are not able to see the difference between a splinter in their own eye and a beem in the eyes of others. Therefore, the scripture loses it's true meaning and is being used to thwort truth and establish not only personal conflict but the enabling or allowing of nasty behavior towards yourself as well. If any person decides to abuse this scripture they are being manipulative or making assumption most likely for a purpose that is not good - rendering a person confused and helpless to see the difference between right and wrong treatment towards themselves.

Shall both hostage and bank robber go to jail? Shall we suggest that if it weren't for the hostage the bank wouldn't get robbed? Would the hostage REALLY be a hypocrite for being discusted in the situation that is happening to them knowing full well that they would never get caught dead robbing a bank. There is a fine line between allowing people to tell you to shut up - you are the same. Of course, that is more likely to come out of the mouth of a true hypocrite.

Hello digilook.. :)

When one takes their eyes off of Jesus..we look at others in a much different light..

We look at ones faults and weakness's..and tell them that what they are doing is wrong with a (self serving attitude)..In doing so, we have in turn, strayed away from our Lord..(Hippocrate)

We are to tell our brothers and sisters in Love..we are to forgive one another..and pray one for another..for if we are not walking in true Love..we are a (Hippocrate), by looking at other's faults..first we must get or hearts right with the Lord, before we can help others..

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

This is great Gospel for everyday living. Whenever human beings hate their other human contacts (brothers/sisters we are all God's children) it is because they see a reflection of themselves in the other person. Look in the mirror and you will see the problem as well as the solution. We all are our own worst enemy!

What Jesus was saying is that we should not judge others for we are all imperfect. We must look at our own faults and not dwell on what others do wrong. See the good in others and learn to love and forgive one another.

Do not immediately blame, point finger, judge, deviate, find faults to other, thinking everyone are sinners except you or advise persons of their wrongness without looking to yourself and your life first...you might have more than others weight of sins and wrongness than other people and God might give you more weight of punishment.
Advising everyone:
-Please be introspective, self examinations first and observe God`s law and instructions well in mastery before displaying your self to be sinless, or infecting others in goodness, or before becoming a model of love and goodness to others.

Your own Sins are more important to tackle than someone elses. Many times we are more concerned with the sins that others commit rather than the sins that we are. GOD will Judge each and every one of us. Get your own life straight then keep it so. Sin is of satan and is a major force to be reckoned with on earth. GOD will deal with satan if we deal with his sin on earth. Have a great day!

A blind person, (spiritually) cannot help anyone who wants to know about the Lord. Go back and read where Chrsit is talking about the bilnd leading the blind. (spiritually again) A oerson who does not know the truth cannot tell of the truth. (spiritually again)

Basically it would mean, in my opinion, focus more so on yourself than others. Not in the selfish sense but in the self analysis sense
