There are two Orthodox religions (Orthodox and Catholic) and thousands of protestant churches, if Jesus Christ returned today what his opinion be? LDS you are excluded from comment since you follow a cult not a religion, flat fact the vast majority of Christian theology concurs.

Jesus gave the keys to the kingdom to St.Peter and clearly indicated he wanted him to perpetuate his teachings and to prevent dissension among Christians.

One final statement, I am curious about your theological reasons for belonging to your Christian denomiation and if it would be an advantage to not argue about bible interpretation......a universal church.

Jesus entrusted His flock to the Apostle Peter (John 21:15-17), so it is obviously the one that has the Successor of Peter.

Jesus is the foundation for all Christian Churches even though he did not start many of them. I think the group that most closely resembles the first church would be the Purpose Driven Church.
In this Church Pastors are administrators and teachers and also have a ministry. Deacons are servants not bosses of the Church and very little is voted on in meetings. Church discipline if used to correct problems and all members are expected to have a ministry and serve the Lord. You have Churches that are multiplying and small groups that take care of each others needs.
The main theme is Worship and discipleship, winning and equipping people for Jesus Christ. This is a protestant group and if I had to say what group fits into Jesus intent of Church it would be this one.
Men tend to mess up anything they get involved in, Church is a wonderful thing and can be a small group of two or three and be the Church Jesus founded.
I am not sure this answers your question but I hope it helps.

Any Christian denomination that teaches the Nicene Creed with no additions or deletions.
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, light from light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son],
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy universal and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Why are LDS excluded - that's not fair! And yes, we ARE Christian - doesn't really matter what you say...sorry. I know you don't think we are, but we very much are. We love our Savior and know that He is the only way back to our Heavenly Father.
You obviously do not know the meaning of cult - any organized religious group...
Silly people.
To quote a simple primary song:
I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I know who I am, I know God's plan, I'll follow Him in faith.
I believe in the Savior Jesus Christ, I'll honor His name.
I'll do what is right, I'll follow His light. His truth I will proclaim!
*******"We have received the everlasting gospel, the same that existed in the days of Jesus; and it is this that has enlightened our minds, enlarged our capacities, and given us a knowledge of the past and of the future, and it has thus revealed to us the purposes of God, and through the order, and organization of this priesthood we are blessed, saved, protected, and upheld as we are at this day."

Christ did not found any single denomination. For a variety of reasons, mankind has splintered into groups, most of which are convinced that they alone have the truth. Christ alone is the way and the truth. We are admonished to gather with other believers, so we pick a church and join a denomination.

to respond to that, i could opt to be attentive to what you advise by using prepared faith? while you're speaking on the subject of the Church that Jesus based, the Christian Church known, then the respond is not any. it fairly is the Church -- the dominion of God on earth. the main to this question is the "on earth" area. Being on earth the Church has to have interplay with "do busines" with companies. as an occasion, they have offered actual-property, employed shape contracts to construct builinds additionally observed as church homes. because of the fact the church has grown, it has had to have interplay on earthly words with further and extra companies. So, inspite of the reality that the Church has to have interplay with buisnesses it by using definion isn't a business enterprise. the objective of the church is to maintain souls by way of Jesus Christ. the objective of a business enterprise is to earn a income. So,no the Church isn't a business enterprise. Now there are some employer that seem to evangelise the gosple for income. those protestant sects inspite of the incontrovertible fact that are actually not area or affilated in any admire with the church. Others sell emotional help packged with Gosple sayins for income. who's as we communicate's televangialst de jour, oh yeah, Joel Olsteen. What precisely is the objective of his oraganization. in spite of if it is to make a income, then specific, the employer is a business enterprise.

I do not believe that CHRIST founded any Denomination. In fact HE wanted us to remain in HIM (Christians) not baptist, methodist, catholic, presbyterian, or any other such name. GOD's SON founded HIS CHURCH. A church by any other name or creed is not HIS CHURCH! Read, study, and follow ONLY the BIBLE to find HIS TRUE WORD. I hope that this makes sense. Have a great week.

Jesus would say neither. Since Jesus is part of Gods Kingdom he would deny he was part of any earthly religion and those you mentioned are not part of his or his Fathers Kingdom.
1. They are part of the world, they involve themselves in political affairs, religious holidays, and mix with interfaith.
2. Jesus said Love thy neighbor, Most of the above are in military, and thus could not keep the above command.
4. Jesus prayed Our father hollowed be your name,
None of those above use Gods name at all, especially in the King James Bibles where they did use it at one time but now have excluded it.

If Jesus were to actually return, he would probably be completely disgusted by what has been done in his name, and how the human race is a major underacheiver.
