I happen to have a 200g packet handy:

14g protein
20.2g saturated fat
0.4g trans fat
5.8g Polyunsaturated fat
30.2g Monounsaturated fat
2.4g sugar
101g other Carbohydrates

it also has fibre, water, sodium and potassium

potato chips have almost no nutritional value. If you were starving they could keep your heart beating but so would cardboard. Any nutrition from potatoes has been killed by the deep fry. Sorry.

potato chips are probably deprived of all value

interesting fact: potatoes on the other hand have trace amount of vitamin C

I think its all colesterol. so why not go for the sweet potato instead of potato chips

Well actually it's nothing but lot of fats and a little bit of carbohydrates that's it actually it is used only for having taste and not for nutrition it contains fats in large amounts.
