Tattoos aren't too bad. But the level of pain all depends on each individuals threshold of pain. Some people can take the same pain better than others. Be prepared for the area to go "numb" or give you the sensation like when your foot falls asleep.
The first week isn't bad, just keep it clean and moist. My only problem is when it starts to itch. The healing process is the worst because think about the big scab you have, that is in the process of healing!
Best wishes on your tat.

It feels like a hot pen scratching your skin. What puts people off more is the noise. That sort of dentist drill squealing :p so expect some loud noise. Depending on where you get it will depend on the type of pain you have. Also what your pain threshold is like. Mine didn't hurt much at all. Occasionally there was a bit of a sting, but most of the time it was just a bit annoying. Don't worry too much. Hopefully your artist will make you feel at ease. Most of them are good like that. Eat something before you go and try not to panic too much. You'll be fine :)

Well, in my experience its not really an excruciating pain, its more like a very annoying type feeling. Like you want to tell the person to just quit it!! I think you'll be fine. It depends also on what part of the body you are wanting to put it on. Different areas are more sensitive AND everyone is different so what hurts to one might not to another. Remember though, the bigger the tattoo and the more detail, the longer you will be sitting there, but I think you will be just fine! Good luck!!

I would expect some pain but go for the Tattoo that you want. You can take the edge off of the pain by taking 3 Ibuprofens 1/2 hour before you go.
Remember one's too many and two's not enough.

how big of a dragon are you planning on getting? the pain really is bearable. it hurts but i can easily sit thru two to three hours of tattoo at a time. the main thing to do is to make sure you are going to a talented artist. know that all artists are NOT talented. there are more people out there who can't tattoo very well than there are phenomenal artists. i had to learn the hard way. look at portfolios. if you aren't impressed by the work they do then just walk out. don't feel like you have to get the tattoo done there.

It depends on a couple of things like how much color you are going to get. If the tat is just going to be shaded with color then it will hurt less than one that is going to be completely filled with color. It also depends on the person doing the tattooing, if they have a gentle touch then it will hurt less. And finally where on your body the tat will go, bony areas like your ankle or the small of your back are more painful than fatty areas like your thigh or butt. I have 2 tats and one hurt like hell and the other one I barely felt. I would say if you are unsure go with the smaller one for now.

Same as above really, aslong as you go to a tattoist thats been recomended or been around for a long time then you'll be fine if you've got any questions or issues at all just talk to the tattoist and they will allways try to help you out.
On last thing when its healing its going to itch like crazy do not no matter what scratch it.
