I believe that all teams have to run the Ford 9" rear ends, i can't verify that because you can not get a rule book unless you are a team or official of NASCAR. However, it makes a lot of sense as NASCAR mandates gear ratios at certain tracks, and everyone having the same rear end makes it easy.

The Toyota Racing Development (TRD) has worked on the rears for the truck series the past 2 or 3 years.Bill Davis Racing lost Dodge sponsorship because they were working with the Toyota R&D people and this was one of the areas they were working on.
