1. Foley's Fish House in the Renaissance Hotel on Seventh Avenue and 48th Street. Great view of Times Square

2. There is a revolving restaurant called The View, at the Marquis Marriott, 1535 Broadway. The restaurant is expensive. But, there is also a lounge that serves drinks, has a small buffet and has the same spectacular view. Dress is informal, but no sneakers are allowed.

Central Park Boathouse has a nice view of the city. However, if you really want a good view of the city, you need to take the ferry over to Jersey and dine at the Charthouse in Weehawken. The view is AMAZING, the service and food are good and you don't have to dress up. There is also a Sheraton there where you can get a decent hotel meal. Ruth Chris' and Houlihans also are right there, but not ON the water.

I love Harbour Lights at the South Street Seaport - ask for a table outside. They have the most fantastic view of the Brooklyn Bridge. The Brooklyn Bridge dessert is fabulous. It's pretty casual there, just put on a shirt and nice pants.

Have Sunday Brunch at the Marquee Marriott revolving restaurant. Fixed price (not too expensive) and a buffet style eat as much as you like. Brilliant and the restaurant does a full revolution every hour. Take a camera - it is worth it.
Watch out for the drinks costs piling up on the bill!
