I heard sheets of bounce (fabric softner) work. But only read this when I was bitten all over in Thailand and they don't have bounce there :( Is it worth taking some with me next time I go?

And taking vitamin B and garlic capsules although I tried this one with no success...

i went to venezuela last year and i used a mixture of vitamin b12-it comes in a little capsule and you buy it over the counter at the chemist mixed with a small travel sized bottle of baby lotion-the fragranced stuff works well. add it in and shake really well. the b12 is bright red (i think) and sometimes doesn't mix well and sits on the top. however, if you shake it really well before applying it then it will mix for long enough for you to apply to your skin. however, this mixture because its an oil makes you burn like crazy so make sure you put a strong sun cream on first! another strong recommendation is to use a spray/lotion which you can buy from boots that had at least 50 %DEET in it!this works well as well, its quite intoxicating but you can spray it all over your body and even at the mossies! There is also a vitamin that you can take which is supposed to work i think its b11. good luck!

I think it depends on the individual some people just seem to be irresistible as far as mossies go. I've had success with; garlic, basil leaves (rubbed lightly on skin or in a dish on the table/by the bed, lemon/lemon balm, citronella candles, peppermint. Depending where you are and what you have to hand. I just wish I knew what stops that awful "mossie song" that wakes you up at 3 in the morning... in a panic!

I took vitamin b11 for three months before I travelled and it worked for me.
If that doesn't work, you cant beat Avon's Skin So Soft moisturiser. I think the Woodland Fresh works the best (or what ever the new name for that smell is).

Sure............try adding 4 - 5 drops of lavender oil to a spray bottle filled with water. Shake, use on your body as an insect repellant...........Mossies hate it!!!

Wonderfull isn't it.............natural remedy, cheap, no chemicals, no irritants to contend with.......

Cheers...........

.....:)
