If you need a train schedule for anywhere in China you can check out this website: http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/index.htm I have found this site to be very accurate, and easy to use. The prices will be listed in US$ but you can convert that yourself. There are about 26 different trains that run daily from Shanghai to Yiwu.

As for the trains, they are generally all in nice shape, and have four different classes:

Hard Seat -- The cheapest and most crowded. When the train is full, the stations sell tickets with no seat numbers, and this is the area in which they stand. It's also the dirtiest, but still OK.
Soft Seat -- More leg room, less people per bench, and no people standing in the aisle way. Plus, each section has a big hot water container, and you may even have some food service. However, many trains do not have soft seat cars.
Hard Sleeper -- Here you get a bed complete with pillow and blankets. There are 6 beds per section (3 beds high on each side) with no door to aisle. If you are taller then 6'3 (193cm) your feet might hang over into the aisle. These cars are all clean, have better bathroom and sink facilities, plus, they get locked down at night so it is always safe.
Soft Sleeper -- The most expensive. This has 4 beds per section (2 high on each side) and has a door to the aisle for more privacy. The beds and linen are basically the same as Hard sleeper class, but you have less air circulation because it is in closed. It might be a bit quieter, but hard sleeper is a better deal for the money.

As a tourist, you can either get your own ticket at the station within one week before you leave, or, most hotels can book them for you and have them delivered to you for a surcharge.

Your trip is only about 4-5 hours, so you should have no problem.
I hope this has helped. Good luck, and have fun on your trip.

It is cheaper, faster, and more frequent if you take the bus...
