overall isnt the internet really just a waste of time? i know there are some positives but generally the internet is just a waste (youtube, blogging)? the internet just gets hyped more and more... any thoughts? i'm at work and i need to waste time, thats why i ask...

I signed up a few days ago and am addicted, I’m rationalizing it by telling myself: It’s good exercise for my brain to be considering other peoples questions and reasoning out an answer that will hopefully help them.
If I take it seriously I will ultimately gain better communication skills and a broader understanding of other peoples point of view.
But it is addictive, you get a small rush when you check your e-mail and find out your answer was chosen as the best answer.

The Internet is a good source of information and this site is helpful in many ways..there are some people that can't go out side and be with people.. and this gives them the chance to connect with other people, I also believe the Internet has alot of bad things about it...sorry to say, Just goes to say. there is good and bad in everything.

Well, I guess we have to ask ourselves some serious questions.
1. Is this activity healthy? (NO, not really)
2. Does it do anything to help others? (Well, maybe just a little)
3. Does it take up valuable time? (Yes, most of the time)
4. Do we become rushed or late because of being on here? (Yes)
5. Does being rushed and late cause stress? ,,,,,,sorry I got to go.

Yeah it really is..its slowly taking its place next to tv as a great entertainment media...it may surpase tv in the next few years...yeah it is a waste of time but isnt most of our forms of entertainment...

it can be a waste of time if you allow it to be..otherwise it is as helpful as any modern convenience.
