Hmm first thing you need to know, you shouldn't bug or keep harrassing them for the dog. You can change your parents mind like giving them a deal eg . good result , find a great job ..... they will be too happy to give you a dog but if it doesn't work try to convince them the advantages of having a dog

1) guard the house
2) man's best friend
3) loyal companion and so on and so on

hope it helps and good luck!

It's probably what you don't want to hear, or you've heard it a million times, but a dog is a huge huge huge responsibillity! Just think how easy it is in your mind to look after it and times it by a million!

Think who has to walk it three maybe four times a day and if it's a big dog your after then those walks will be for at least a couple of miles, EACH WALK!

I will certainly agree that before getting a dog, it can be one of the most exciting ideas in the world and yes, owning one is a pleasure, but bear in mind that you have to be able to take the massive quantity of time to train, walk, clean up and love a dog.

I am guessing that you are still in school or college and that you are out the house most of the day. And if your parents work during the day then you can't leave a dog for much more than 5 hours, but even less if they're a puppy.

I would reccomend that if you have a best friend who owns a dog, ask if you can look after it for a week whilst the go on holiday or something. (especially beacuse you have to change your whole holiday arrangements, just for your dog!) and see how you cope after a week.

I hope this is all of interest and that you make the right choice.

And as my mum said to me when we got our dog five years ago, "He can live for up to 15 years and anything could happen during that time"

Good luck!

Will

I know this might not be what you want to hear but until you are old enough to be on your own, there maybe no way to change your parents mind. I don't think anyone here can change your parents mind. You have to do that. But good luck with trying. Dogs can be great members of the family.

aw dang. Rats are lots relaxing. Are you allowed rabbits/bunnies the place you reside?? Im not :( yet they're the cutest <3 No huge quantities of area mandatory and that they dont get too pungent (ive researched earlier) or perchance a guinea pig. they seem to be slightly uninteresting as they dont do too lots yet their organization is astounding and that they dont scent too lots the two. Birds are relaxing pets yet you could desire to get something like a cockatiel, lorrikeet or parrot of a few sort. something you could practice perchance even a budgie or 2. I actual have had a cockatiel and a budgie and the two have been attractive relaxing pets. Birds might properly be particularly noisy in spite of the undeniable fact that WHAT some DUCK?? geese are cute. that would desire to rely on the dimensions of your backyard. Turtles are relaxing yet not so cuddly

I've got it.... first two things that I think you should do....

Consider why they don't want you to have a dog??

Buy a Labradoodle - why you ask?? http://www.burkesbackyard.com.au/2004/archives/2004/roadtests/dog_breeds/labradoodles Read for yourself, and show your parents this website.

They do NOT shed hair - big BONUS for the house or CAR!
They are hypo-allergenic - no ALLERGIES!
They are very cute - and GREAT WITH KIDS!

You must demonstrate that you'll walk your dog regularly and if they'd like to have a reason to exercise or "walk" a good dog is a great option.

maybe you could ask them to buy one for you because you're sometimes..lonely?you need someone to accompany you..and it can guard the house too.. :D and its fun to play with too..the dog will only bring you sickness if you dont take good care of it and you dont bathe it everyday.

hey...if ur parents don't like to have a puppy home...then just do as their wish...honestly could u know how hard the burden it is to have even a puppy home...U have to care everything for them..I say, it is not a child's play...Absolutely not that easy....
As for me...I am just lucky..both my parents love puppies so much....So they care for them....
