requirements to be a 5 star & 3 star hotel?

The difference is in the amenities:

A five-star hotel should have a restaurant, swimming pools, fitness centers, room service, concierge service and parking service. Also it should have conference rooms and original art. Your rooms should have a blow dryer, TV, toiletries, phone, and a desk.

But the ratings are usually subjective to the whim of the rater. A three-star hotel is usually pretty comfortable if you don't need most of those extra facilities.

5 star hotels are generally better in conditions than 3 star hotels. this is because the number of rooms and restaurants, cleanliness, work welfare, hotel architecture and organisation all have to have high ratings to gain more stars. also, with more stars, the hotel can charge higher rates.

this answer is quite simple realy in a 3 star the facilities may not be as bril or clean or modern e.g 5 star ud have a plasma and dvd player (unlike a 3 star you usualy get a mini crapy telle *laugh*) ....and better room desighn...e.t.c oh and you have sky in a 5 star. in a 5 star it will be better food more modern and posh and would probabably be in superb view e.g looking over a beech.
