i'm really wondering, because if one really thinks about it, there's no point in spreading a mere opinion like that...

It's the same old story...some people can't or don't bother to learn the facts. It's always easier to belittle someone else than it is to educate yourself so as to be able to have a useful discussion.

It's like trying to discuss politics with somebody who hates George Bush...and his only argument is "Bush is the stupidest man in the world." Well, obviously that can't be true...but that person has made an allegation that is difficult to respond to in an intelligent manner to such a shallow person.

I'm Catholic, and sometimes when I suffer the insanities of a confused fellow-Christian, I tell him "I gotta go now...it's time for me to sacrifice a baby..." or something of the such. It usually shuts them up!

Just read Scott's posting and you'll see every false belief and misinterpretation of Catholicism included there.

People are actually schooled in how to falsely misrepresent the Catholic faith to others.

Whether they know they've been duped is a matter open to speculation.

I recently explained to a Baptist minister that the Catholic practice of baptizing infants is in fact the clearest and strongest possible statement and demonstration of salvation without works.

The infant does nothing, yet he becomes an adopted child of God, a co-heir with Jesus, a temple of the Holy Spirit, and a member of the church, simply because God desires that everyone be saved, and his true church obediently does his express will, freely supplying all that is necessary, including the faith.

Jesus said, "Mat 28:19 Going therefore, teach ye all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world."

He never said to wait until a person was older, to teach only from a BIble, or to settle for some lame "sinner's prayer" in lieu of authentic, sacramental baptism.

Catholics have always known this, and it doesn't get any more fundamental than that.

I can understand why some people would say the Catholic church is not a Christian church. Some of the Catholic practices may distract people away from Jesus. For example: praying to Mary, praying to saints, calling priests "father", saying the rosary which is repeating words that hinder the relationship God requires us to have with Him, the adornment of robes and statues, and incense. These are all wonderful extras the Catholic church offers which attracts many and makes them feel good about their duty as a Catholic. God created us for fellowship with Him...as Christians let's make sure that is happening and not follow man's ideas of what church should be.

I am becoming increasingly frustrated with the catholic church the more it is brought up. Not all catholics are wrong, but the fact is that the official stance of the catholic church is in opposition of the bible. They have added to it which is warned against in revelations and they make people feel that by their own work, they can go to heaven when the bible clearly says otherwise. The bible says that it is by grace ALONE that we are saved so that no man may boast. How many kids get shuffled off to CCD and their parents don't even go to church. First communion? Etc. Many think that by attending these classes and making these milestones that they will go to Heaven and yet they will go home and blaspheme God's name after a baptism or communion. That is not the fruit of the spirit. Again, I realize that I am generalizing here, but it seems to be the case over and over again.
To answer your question though (sorry) is that many want to warn against false teaching. False teaching leads to false conversion which leads to false hope. Matt 7 says that many will come to Jesus on the day of Judgement and claim to do many great things and Jesus will reply, "away from me you worker of iniquity. I never knew you." That will happen to those that follow a false Gospel such as the work based gospel of the catholic church.
My concern is for the lost. Some of the lost sit in church sunday after sunday in many churches, catholic or otherwise.

Well,Christians believe that we need to expose bad doctrine within the church.
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" (1 Tim. 4:1).
So I assume that the people who believe that the Catholic Chruch isn't Biblical think that they are doing the right thing.

I don't know, but they probably say that because the Catholic church doesn't emphasize salvation through Christ, but rather through the priest. To be Christian means to be Christ-like. To live by His teaching. The Catholic Church teaches to call the priest "Father" but Jesus taught "Do not call anyone on earth your Father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. " Matthew 23:9

The Catholic Church teaches that you confess your sins to the priest, and he will forgive you, but the Bible teaches that Jesus Is the Great High Priest in Hebrews 4:14-16

14We have a great high priest, who has gone into heaven, and He is Jesus the Son of God. That is why we must hold on to what we have said about him. 15Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because he was tempted in every way that we are. But he did not sin! 16So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved kindness, and we will find help.

Jesus Himself said in John 14:6 that “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

its your opinion that its opinion, i have friends who came out of the catholic church, and family. thecatholic church changes everything around and tries to make the catholic church look christian, but if you read the bible you see that the 2 are at odds against each other. i'm not concerned about being popular, i'm concerned about the souls that are being told they are fine, but in reality are going straight to hell. and its not only the catholic church, it's witchcraft, satanism, paganism [the model catholicism is made from], buddhism, islam, and the other religions that deny Jesus as Lord, i love them and thats why i preach against false doctrine, and promote true biblical doctrine

When you're trying to sell product to consumers and get their money, you'll do anything to insult the competition and make their product look inferior. Religion _is_ a product for sale.

Peace!
People like to bash the Catholic Church because Catholics are not bashers. It is envy more than anything else.
