So long as you are a British Citizen and born in Britain, your child should be entitled to British Citizenship: looking forward, he or she will be able to pass that Citizenship on to their children, unless those children are ALSO born outside the UK.

"A child born outside the UK on or after 1 January 1983 will automatically acquire British citizenship by descent if either parent is a British citizen otherwise than by descent at the time of the birth." - Wikipedia

Your child would be nationality of the Country in which it is born.

If she could, it would better for her to be here on holiday when the baby is due to be born. If she doesnt get her visa that is.
Having a child being born here would help her visa application

The child will be a UK citizen only if you and your wife are settled (resident legally) in the UK at the time of birth AND the child is born in the UK.
Otherwise, it will have simply yours and your wife citizenship. He could also have the citizen of the country of birth, if that country gives territorial citizenship (not all do).

I have a friend who is US citizen by birth, his wife is Australian . Their child was born in Brazil. According to laws of all three countries, the child is a citizen of all three countries.

It would be the nationality of the country it was born in but as you- the father- were british you could get duel nationality.

I have a friend who had her son when she was in america and he has both american and british passports.

Double check with immigration at the home office. (link below)
