CALL YOUR DOCTOR! dont play around w/ elderly ppls meds. There're kidney and liver function is not 100% so you dont want to put any stress on them. have her keep her feet up until she can see a doctor. You can also try cranberry juice b/c it will act as a dieretic and help flush any excess fluid.

P.s if she has copd, flash pluminary edema, chf etc call her doctor asap & if she gets short of breath i would sit her up and get her help quick

Her Doctor should be the one to decide what she needs to take for swelling. Triazide is a diuretic but her Doctor should decide if that's the right one for her and what the proper dose should be. I would cut down on salt, elevate her legs three or four times a day, and have her call the Doctor to make an appt to discuss the swelling and its treatment. Good luck.

The extra water you drink, the fewer you will maintain. Swollen ankles are an indication of water retention. Massaging your ft and ankles will help too. Are you pregnant? which could ensue lots once you're pregnant.
