In my view the older a religion the better because it has proven affective at providing it's believers with moral stability and wealth in spirit. And the drive to fight off invaders
BUT! Which one will come out on top in the future?

Actually Christianity, until the last 300 yrs or so, was force fed to people with harsh punishment if rejected. From the time of its inception it has been at some type of war and has caused more deaths than any other religion. You offer a person a choice of death or acceptence, most folks are going to choose acceptence. Christianity didn't catch on out of a natural course. it was forced upon people at the point of a sword. For those that want to get ugly about my post, read history. Even Consantine that made Christianity the formal religion of the Roman empire used is to unite a failing empire. Constantine was a pagan and only accepted Christianity on his death bed but even that is stilll up for speculation. The idea that Christianity was such a loving religion that people converted out of belief is nonsense and it is nowhere in any history book. Remember, those that have the power make the rules.

Islam, the only religion that has built and can build the largest empire the world has ever seen, hence the title of PBS' production - "Islam - Empire of Faith". This is in striking contrast with Christianity which was built by the Byzantine Empire, particularly by Constantine and Theodosius. In addition, I believe that people will sooner or later realise how absurd it is to say that God is One but Three, i.e Christians' trinity.

"If any religion had the chance of ruling over England, nay Europe within the next hundred years, it could be Islam...I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion for from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Savior of Humanity...I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today.”
(Sir George Bernard Shaw in 'The Genuine Islam')

"Islam is a religion that is essentially rationalistic in the widest sense of this term considered etymologically and historically....the teachings of the Prophet, the Qur'an has invariably kept its place as the fundamental starting point, and the dogma of unity of God has always been proclaimed therein with a grandeur a majesty, an invariable purity and with a note of sure conviction, which it is hard to find surpassed outside the pale of Islam...A creed so precise, so stripped of all theological complexities and consequently so accessible to the ordinary understanding might be expected to possess and does indeed possess a marvelous power of winning its way into the consciences of men."
(Edward Montet, 'La Propagande Chretienne et ses Adversaries Musulmans'. Also in T.W. Arnold in 'The Preaching of Islam')

"Arabia was idolatrous when, six centuries after Jesus, Muhammad introduced the worship of the God of Abraham, of Ishmael, of Moses, and Jesus. The Aryans and some other sects had disturbed the tranquility of the east by agitating the question of the nature of the Father, the son, and the Holy Ghost. Muhammad declared that there was none but one God who had no father, no son and that the trinity imported the idea of idolatry...I hope the time is not far off when I shall be able to unite all the wise and educated men of all the countries and establish a uniform regime based on the principles of Qur'an which alone are true and which alone can lead men to happiness."
(Napoleon Bonaparte as Quoted in Cherfils, ‘Bonaparte et Islam’)

hello

As to your question I believe that at the end of time itself religion will not longer matter as an individual is separated from everything that is not himseld, as well as religion is merely a culture. For example I would like to call myself a Neo-Manichaean (avoid meat, avoid alcohool, living a ascetic life, 48 prostrations a day, 3 hours of study and mediation each day and so on. Religion really in this example defines who a person is. A jew acts according to the Jewish faith system, a Christian behaves according to the Christian faith system and a Muslim lifes life according to the Islamic faith system.

Is it possible to worship the bounty of Nature and all Her glory in outer space? In 1000 years our planet will either be desolate or we'll luck out and have a home. Not that being a pagan is a religion... but it is truly the oldest... Hindi is certainly NOT the oldest, and WE DO know of its origins. Screw this crap about fighting and invasions... it is all a bunch of BS. There is NOTHING spiritual about fighting.

i can already see a new religion evolving, followers of which celebrate christmas, and they want to know more about the holy mecca and Mohammad sahab, and the followers of this new evolving religion too much beleive in YOGA and hindu, budhism and jainism art of meditation, and who are just eager to know what is written in their ancient text, and they are alway searcing for the clues they can get by mixing science with spiritualy and philosophy,,so that a complete and full proof theory for life and universe can b transfered to the generations coming.
I have no doubt that this group of people which follow this religion of open and pure knowledge and humanity are going to reign the future minds of people.

Well, buddhism is able to change with science, so I would have to go with that one. If you are talking about manipulating and terrorizing people into converting I would have to say Islam will be around the longest as it is the most aggressive.

Christianity. Because, there is but ONE God, who gave everything to see us survive and have a chance at eternal freedom. Without that kind of loved involved in a religious structure, that religious structure is bound to be full of misunderstanding. The God of Christianity is the One God of all hearts, not religion, so I truely believe in the end, there will be no winning "religion", there will be a belief in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Because that is what is real.
