guy gets close to a girl (me)?
I do not talk to him. My mom and his dad were right there in front of us. he was about five inches away from me. I kind of backed away =)

It could mean nothing. Then maybe he was just as shy as you were and hoping that you would strike up a conversation.

If a guy gets as close, it is either accidental or he wants some of that damn fine girl you called "(me)" in the question. To do it in front of the parents he is REALLY interested or, again, was accidental.
