Any job that gives you a wage is respectable. I believe that if you try to do your best at what ever job you you have you are respected. It is those who can work but do not because they are waiting for the perfect job with lots of pay that are not respected in my opinion. What ever you do in life do it well and respected everyone who is hard working.

Cab driving is a job--nothing more or less. Cabbies everywhere make the money by giving you the LONGEST possible drive to your destination; nothing personal....that's just the simple nature of "the game". One won't find fortune as a cabbie--espicially if they save their customers money with the SHORTEST ride to their destination!!!

Cabbies are a close knit circle of people; their jobs are highly dangerous--espicially deep into the night, where they don't know what nutjob a "fare" may be when he or she jumps in their car backseat.

Cabbies share the top spot of being the most dangerous profession with the world's oldest profession--prostitution: both work well into the night, exposed to hundreds of people---many who are murderously dangerous.
