Because he is so depressed at that moment and can't think of anything else! I believe that if most of the people who have committed suicide, had a second chance wouldn't do it!

Good question. The real answer is that hell is not a real place. As meant by a place for suffering. It is meant as the grave, even Job asked God to go to hell to escape Gods anger!!!!!
Like most mainstream Christians and their teaching, they have adopted the false religious beliefs from Babylon, like the Catholic Church and the rest.
A person that does take their life really does bring attention to God because he values life as being very precious.

If we are speaking strictly about Davd Koresh then the answer is he was mentally unstable / insane so the answer here is why do the insane do what they do.
Also remember that Koresh thought he was the Messiah so he would have believed that he was going back to Heaven, he did not know / believe he was going to hell

well, thats a question that you can only guess the answer to since David Koresh is the only one who really knew why he did what he did. However there is a ton of evidence and information on that subject. You can try this page to start:

Also, I would argue that no one could "know" they were going to hell since there is no tangible proof of such a place.

i don't think that he or she was really thinking about going to heaven or hell maybe he or she was only thinking about getting out of what ever he or she was going through
