for the those who've cheated, how did you handle the guilt, if you had any? and why did you do it?

The guy I cheated on him with was his best mate, I must've made the right choice, as we've been married now for almost 20 years!

I never cheated on anyone although some girls cheated on me. But I think that if you were cheated by your g/f or b/f there is no reason to cheat on them cause a mistake doesn't get corrected with another mistake.

To answer your question, I think that there are people who have cheated that feel guilty and then there are those who don't. It depends on the situation.

The situations are (I think):

i) When a man will be cheated by his g/f (and vice-versa) he/she will cheat on her/him so just to repay her/his mistake, to make her/him feel how he felt when he/she knew about the cheating so there's no guilt-feeling.

ii) When a man/woman cheat on his/her partner cause he/she felt for somebody else, there might be guilt-feeling and might not.

iii) Finally there's the cheating cause of the alcohol.

These are three situations of cheating and all of them can have cheaters feel guilty and those who don't. It depends on the cheaters personality.

Can't handle the guilt its horrid. I felt sick in the stomach. I felt ill. I'm bad at cheating. In some ways it wasnt technically cheating we were on a "break" but we were hard out in contact so it was like cheating. I stuck to my lies though through thick and thin. My advice is dont do it.

I cheated once and I didn't feel any guilt,because I was only cheating as an act of revenge for what He had done wrong.I never told him what I had done,and I don't intend to do so.I never cheated because of the temptation,but as a reaction to his behavior.My advice,if u'r feeling guilty is not to tell her/him and try to forget it ever happened.Oh,yes....and don't ever do it again,cuz it could become a nasty habit.That being said,good luck with u'r relanship!

I've never cheated on anyone, but someone I loved cheated on me. It's the hardest thing in the world to deal with - you feel utterly betrayed and it knocks your self confidence like nothing else. Just a thought.

Did it out of neglect (on his part), guilt was crippling for a year after we split but now I've learned to move on. You can't dwell on the past - it's gone.

i cheated when i was young and selfish before i realised what love was and how much it hurt! i was young(under 18) which isnt much of an excuse i know but now i would never consider it as i think cheating is the ultimate in betrayal and hurt!

i cheated on my ex husband...but that was with a woman...i 'discovered' my sexuality...he was fine with it and we stayed good friends through it all....he said if it had been a man that would have been VERY different but he could never hope to give me what my female lover (at the time!) could...so said he understood...i guess i did feel guilty tho cos i just gave him our flat, all the contents and our two cats....x

put it really deep in ur mind and then look in the mirror and tell urself it didnt happen 5 times then it was just a dream 3 times and then i usually call the person and tell them jokingly what i did
