my friend often falls asleep at around 2 or 3 in the morning and she gets into college and she is mentally slow and she cant concentrate. she often drinks coffee or eats sweets to give her a boost throughout the day and she has irratic energy levels from this. can you recomend any ways i can explain to her or any advice i can give her to help her cause i like it when she is feeling good because shes really funny and interesting when shes awake and we can hold a conversation...

Get into a habit of waking up early. Set an alarm and force yourself to wake up early. In turn you will be tired at night earlier. Your body will adjust to the change and it will become normal. Get a lot of exercise throughout the day. Also eating a healthy diet helps. If you aren't eating correctly it can affect sleep patterns.

Hi Cofee contains high level of cafein. The symtomp after consuming cofee is higherlevel of concentration & reduce sleeping time. Time to time this can cause damage to brain. I would sugest you advise your friend reduce the intake of coffee. & drink plenty of mineral water instead. Ask her to adjust the study time (not till 2 - 3 early morning). Our body needs at least 8 hours of sleep. If she cant have this in long term she can suffer with many problems. One of them is memory loss, heavy headache, frequent fever. Which is a problem for a student.

i find it VERY hard to sleep early too so on school nights when i have to i drink warm milk after having had a cup of black coffee that morning

eat an onion or sniff a cut raw onion before going to bed.you may also have a warm glass of milk with honey before going to bed
