I am not eating carbos for 2 weeks now except some fruit (no bananas, apples and pears) but I haven't lost any weight.

You have to eat some carbs--your body needs them, and if they are lacking you will get depressed or moody. But you need GOOD carbs...the best diets are the South Beach Diet or the Glycemic Index diet. The one thing that has helped me the most, though, is drinking a full 12 oz. glass of water about 20 minutes before a meal, and then eating only a small amount of good carbs along with lots of salads and proteins. (example: salad with lettuce, onions, green peppers, whatever you like; 1/3 cup of of cooked brown rice with a little butter and salt, and then a piece of fish or steak or other lean meat.) If you don't drink pop or alcohol and eat this way, you will have energy and you will lose weight. Just don't give up!

Oh ya - it's great. It also cures a lot of stuff like acid reflux - when I did it I lost a lot of "arthritic" pain. Carbs are stuff like bread, pasta, rice, breakfast cereal, potatoes. You QUIT eating this stuff. It's not very good for you. Obviously you don't eat any sugar either - so desert is a little hard to get. But you do eat real food - meat, eggs, cheese, nuts and green salad. This is the atkins - Get a used copy of "New Diet Revolution" off of Amazon Books - or check in the library. It's a great diet and people lose weight really well. It was designed years ago to keep people from developing diabetes.

Why are people so attracted to fad diets? It's just like the "eating fat makes you fat" craze of the early nineties (while what kind of fat didn't matter and eating 3 plates of pasta was fair game!).

You NEED carbs, and they are nothing to fear anyway.

If you want to lose weight, then focus your attention on PORTION SIZE, not a particular food substance.

People CAN still lose weight while eating carbs. You're body needs them, just don't eat too much, and eat healhty carbs.

The atkins diet seems to work better for men than women, but it is not the healthiest choice. If you go to the site in my source box there you will see lots of information on low carb diets, and alternative diets you can follow. The woman who wrote it lost 40lbs trying all different types of diets depending on her mood!

u can't lose weight without exercising. and fruits are carbohydrates

Bake a healthy breakfast before hand to ensure you don't grab a sugary scone on the run.

Label each with time in addition to calorie amounts to avoid eating everything all at once.
