I completed an Ironman triathlon which was a long time goal of mine and want to get the Ironman tattoo "M dot". Should I go forearm, calf, or shoulder? It would only be about the size of golf ball or even smaller but as a professional I don't want to come across as too jail house. Know what I mean?

Personally, I don't like small tats on men... looks sissy... (no offense tho hey)

Bigger is better..!!

Just cuz you have a tattoo doesn't mean your going to come across as 'jail house'..... maybe for the small-minded, but who cares what they think anyway......?

If you don't want people to see it, you might as well get it on your butt....

I would go with the calf definitely. You can hide it at any time. Forearm is probably the sexiest place to get it but if you roll up your sleeves at work people will see. I have cherries on the back of my calves and I love them!!! oh & congrats on completing the Ironman!!!

I would say shoulder. Forearm is cool but not a good idea when you don't want it shown at work. And a calf would also be ok but it seems kind of small for on your calf. But good luck with whatever you get. It is way worth it.

Calf or shoulder. Definately not forearm, there may be occassions when you want to wear a short sleeve shirt and not show off tattoos, no matter how proud of them you are.
Congrats on winning though

Congratualtions on an incredible accomplishment!!! I have been a triathlete for a few years, but not ready to hit the big stage just yet. However I have a lot of IM friends who have the tattoo, and it is most common to have it on your calf. You can cover it with nice slacks, but show it off when you are sporting shorts or trunks. Good luck in your new season.

i wouldn't put something so small on a calf. i never like the way tiny tattoos look on legs. also, if you are a professional and don't want it to be seen then you shouldn't get it on your forearm unless you always wear long sleeves to work. so shoulder it is i guess. or you could put it on your ribcage, but i also prefer large tattoos on ribcages because they are such a large canvas.

it's the new age my brother. i have a 9 inch cross on my forearm and will be working downtown on the 14th floor in 3 years. you ca cover it up if you wear a long sleeve shirt. more and more people get them every day. plus, it's being more generally accepted in society. just look at the new tattoo shows on tv!!

put it where you want, i say put it on the forearm, let people know what you've accomplished!!!!

If it's you first tattoo I'd say put it on your back shoulder, I have to agree with Amber on this one, Get it were you can cover it up, if you put it on your forearm people are judgmental when you go to apply for jobs, they judge you for the way you look and not for the way you work.

well if your ashamed to have it, dont get one to begin with! "Jail House" huh? I have 24 tattoo's and I've never been in jail, as a matter of fact I dont drink alcohol, do drugs or hang out on the docks with sailors. I put my pants on one leg at a time just like you. Congrats on the accomplishment though.

Definitely...forearm
And may I suggest
go a bit larger with it,
to get good detail.
