First of all, that age difference is not that bad. As you get older, the gap will seem less and less important.

Second, yes, men tend to die at a younger age. However, if you love him, then this is a very stupid reason to walk away. What if you die in a car crash when you are 50? You will have died before him and would have wasted your whole life without him because you were afraid to be alone when you were old. There are too many bad things in this world to let a fear of him dying first cause you to miss out on true happiness.

No one is guaranteed a 100 year life, so enjoy what you have now and don't worry about what comes later.

BTW, my husband is 11 years old than me, and we started dating when I was in college. It is really not that big of a deal. Don't listen to those people who say to dump him just because you are in college and he is not. That is a terrible reason to miss out on the love of your life, if that is what this man is.

easy answer..the age difference is too much if:
1) he tells you to grow up often
2) you dont understand each others decisions
3) you find yourselves not wanting to do what the other one likes <--- even bad if you are the same age.

otherwise age is a # and dont worry about one dying first because at your ages you wont die of old age any time soon, and if you die be accident then i dont think age is a factor.

Men dying before women is just a statistic. Get him into a healthy lifestyle if you're worried. If a guy is healthy, nowadays with medicine the way it is, he won't die until he's 100. Granted there are no accidents or he conducts a disease or something.

really girl, unless you are ready to completly settle down, do the whole marrige thing and start a family, i would say go for it... but if not... you shouldnt get too attached... he is at an age where he is ready for strong commentment (not implying that you cant give him that). you have your whole life ahead of you and many more important decisions than "if i should settle down". from what i've seen, anyone who gets into a strong, commeted relationship, before even the age of 21, is asking for a lot of stress... follow your heart and it will lead you in the right direction... just dont let this relationship limit your dreams... good luck!

If you LOVE him, age will not matter.
My mom was 14 years OLDER than my dad.
I am 2 years OLDER than my current husband.
Don't worry about AGE, worry about living life to it's fullest and ENJOYING it with the person that God meant you to be with, regardless of his age.
You could be run over by a bus tomorrow/tonight........... the bus doesn't care about your age.
CARPE DIAM or whatever the Latin expression is.........live life for today. Age is only a number.
Trust me. I know when I was your age, age was a HUGE THING because I couldn't go into a bar and he could, or whatever...... but in about 10 years (will pass SOON), you won't think that way.
Pray about it. Do you believe in God? If he is "the one", it will come together.
On the other hand, if he's going to the bars, etc, because you CANT', that is a danger sign.

Well if he does die before you, you will at least be young enough to enjoy it.

Don't forget if you date someone your own age the will not be as financially stable as a 29 year old boyfriend is??? Something to think about...

I believe that people don't know when they will die exactly, so I think that you sould not worry too much about him dying earlier, because you might be the one to die first- you just don't know. Plus it will be better to carry problems just for today and not problems for the next 10 years or so, you might get insane

I married a man who is 10 years older than me and I think of that too. However, I just think about all the great years we could have together instead.

no its fine thats a good difference..males are less mature so the female if more mature for her age..so it balances out now if you were 18 and the guy was 44 yes it makes a lot of difference .You can have a family since you are both young and it will work out..
