Some people function better when it's hot ....But as to those who feel tired when it's very hot .. it could be a combination of things ..

You could be depleted in the salts that the body needs to function .. you may have lost them through perspiration. These salts are vital to help you keep functioning well ..
It wasn't that long ago when many Aussies would take salt tablets to help replenish the salts ..
I make up some staminade which you can buy in powdered form, for a container that costs around $8.00 you can make six litres ... much cheaper than buying bottles of staminade

you may also not be sleeping well in the heat so you may be tired from that ( i am one of those weird people that STILL has the doona on when it's 40'c). Try having a cool bath before bed and make a cold/ice water bottle ( place it in a plastic bag and then place in a pillow slip

And you may NOT be drinking enough water , some people drink a lot of soft drinks or fruit juices ... which take a lot for the body to break down ..You may be drinking too many caffinated drinks which will act as diuretics( may be spelt wrong ) .. these cause you to lose more fluid...

you may be out in the sun without enough protection from the UV rays ..

see if you can try a few of the things I have suggested and see if it helps ..

I hope it does :)

take care,
Jen

(p.s I am assuming you are an aussie cos we';re in a heat wave)

When the weather is hot, your body (as a system) get over heated and you need extra energy to get things done. Just my theory.

I have been saying all day how tired I am & that it must be the heat!!
But it makes me feel so old
I can't drink any more water or I will be up all night so it can't be from the lack of water
have you got a clue as to what it is?
