I have a 12 year old German Shepherd named Lakota. I thought about naming her Cheyenne and spelling it Sheyenne. I also have a dog name "KD" for "Karla's Dog" people think we are saying Katie. Sorry I could be of better help, good luck in finding the perfect name.

This really depends on YOU..........do you want a "people name" for your dog, or a "dog name"?
My friend's sister once had a shepherd named "Dave".
I would prefer, if I had a shepherd, to name it:
Lilly
Precious (kind of a play on the "purse dog" thing)
Amanda - after my mom who just passed away
Mandy (short for Amanda, it's what I named my cat)
Beauty
Majesty
Queen or Queenie
Princess
Dolly
I guess I have more names for male dogs.........enjoy your new pup!!! I've posted a website that might help you

I would look up some (baby) names on the internet. They have ethnic and European/American names. I like Sascha by the way. Our dog is called Laika.
