I took a polygraph today for a police department. After the test the examiner said I need to ask you a question to one of your responses, and he was about my physical health (before the polygraph started I told him that I had been to the ER twice). I told him I went to the ER twice in the last 10 months one was for tonsilitis and one was Muscolskeletal pain. After I told him that he said "ok". Did I fail??

If you told the truth, you passed. So you already know the answer to your own question :)

You don't actually pass or fail the polygraph. A polygraph measures your bodies reaction to the answers that you give and the examiner judges the probability that you are lying by the results. Low probability: Pass, High probability: Fail. It's not an exact science which is why it usually isn't admissible as evidence in court. It's the examiners job to make no reaction to what he sees while he asks you questions, (otherwise he may skew the data) this explains why you were incapable of gleaning any info from him.

I think you probably did fine. No sense in second guessing the results, you'll know soon enough.
Usually if they have questions, it's over more serious stuff than that. They usually want to clarify what they feel are evasive or unclear answers, if you were thinking about your health, it may have caused a bit of an aberrant reading.
Personally I think polygraphs are almost as fun as root canals and just about as relevant, but boy we sure used the heck out of them at the police department.

The only thing I can say is, get an attorney. OMG the polygraph is horrible and that's how they get innocent people to confess to crimes they didn't commit. Please don't let that happen to you. Get an attorney ASAP. I couldn't tell you if you failed or not. You may have passed because, usually when you fail, they let you know at once.

Next time just cheat,it really is easy, incredibly easy.Even if you are innocent it is best to cheat it,remember, the test is subjective, fool the examiner and you have it licked.Go here for info:http://antipolygraph.org/
