Quiche is a French egg dish
Frittata is an Italian egg dish
Quiche has a crust.
Frittata-no crust.
Quiche has a mixture placed in the crust and is then baked.
Frittata is first made on the frying pan, like an open faced omelet and then baked in the oven to cook the top.
Both are good and real men DO eat both!

A quiche and a fritata are completely different types of foods. A quiche is a mixture of cheese and cream and spices that is mixed in a bowl and then put into a crust and then baked and served basically as an appetizer or perhaps a lunch. It's background is French and has been popular in the US for a long long time. As a joke there is a book out called "Real Men Don't Eat Quiche", which of course is not true, as my husband loves it.
Anyway, a Fritata is Italian, and it is basically a sort of omlet, but a fancy one that is not flat like an American one, but more puffed up. Don't really know how they do it, but it is eggs and your choice of filling, whether it be a lot of vegetables or perhaps some sausage, etc. It has become quite popular in the last number of years over here, but was available abroad for a much longer period of time, it was just the way they made their omelets. Hope this helps. Oh yes, Fritatas are for breakfast or brunch/lunch, and not only in Italian restaurants anymore.

A quiche is egg custard with savory additions like bacon or cheese, baked in an open pastry shell. The quiche is a favorite and traditional brunch dish, as it is usually served at room temperature or chilled so the custard has time to set up. It is also quite simple to make, and additions of savory ingredients can vary from the most recognizable, Swiss or Gruyere cheese and bacon, to many newer recipes with more modern additions.
The frittata is an Italian dish, similar in composition to an omelet. Unlike an omelet, however, the egg mixture is not folded over and finished on the stove top. Most variants of the frittata start with a few moments on the stove top until the bottom layer of the egg mixture has solidified, and then are baked in the oven for half an hour to an hour depending upon the size and recipe

A frittata is a type of Italian omelette featuring hearty fillings such as meats, cheeses, and vegetables. Rather than being folded like a normal omelette, it is prepared open-faced, and typically finished under the broiler. One of the main characteristics that distinguishes it from a regular omelette is that it is baked
quiche is a baked dish that is made primarily of eggs and cream in a pastry crust. Other ingredients such as chopped meat, vegetables and cheese are often added to the eggs before the quiche is baked.

They are quite different really. The quiche has a crust and is baked in the oven. Fritattas are more like an open face omlete that is fried in a pan.
Even the filling is quite different in texture although they both use eggs and cheese as the main ingredients.
