why do you want to quit?

You actually could need more of it, the dosage may be not high enough seriously..I am on 300mg .
If you dislike it that much ask your doc to switch you to maybe Zoloft, Paxil or Lexapro.

Being menopausal and having the "empty Nest Syndrome" , marriage being over etc, seems like you may need the aid of an antidepressant

Best wishes

Hi, I am Kristina, 33, and I have Bipolar w/psychosis, Borderline Personality Disorder and a bunch of other things. I have been prescribed Wellbutrin XR in the past, and those are the symptoms that I had. Although I had those things already, they were amplified by the Wellbutrin XR. You should talk to your prescribing doctor about other medication alternatives. Wellbutrin XR is a slow acting medication also.... so it depends on how long you've been taking it. There are several antidepressants that are new and don't have very many side effects. Have you tried Cymbalta? There are too many for me to list. But you should have your doctor give you something different and talk with him/her about how this medication is making you feel. You might have to take several different ones to find the right one, so don't give up!! Hope this helps.

1) talk to your doctor about it.

2) I was on Wellbutrin XL, 1st 150 mg, then 300mg -- I was better off NOT taking it. Why? Turns out I have Bipolar II and it sent me into BAD rapid cycling. Prozac sent me straight up into mania. I don't know what your reaction is like, nor what your other symptoms are, but I always suggest keeping that in mind. I was misdiagnosed with depression -- it can happen to anyone.

3) Even trying another anti-depressant can help. Maybe an SSRI will work for you, or maybe a combination of drugs. Everyone is different.

I've not ever took Cymbalta but if I began Wellbutrin XL it gave me terrible migraines, it made me withdraw extra, and it made me sleep extra, on the time i used to be a smoker and it made me crave cigarettes much more at that factor I went from smoking a million % an afternoon to two a million/two an afternoon.

ASK YOUR DOCTOR FIRST! I quit abruptly, and I really went nutzo...I don't know how that would work w/ you because everyone is different.
