Jesus was born in Israel .He appears to have had the physiognomy of a Jewish male.If he had any features other than those endemic of that region I feel some mention would have been m ade in the bible stories .He was readily accepted by the populous and no mention made of any strange physical features. His appearance and colour would be that of typical of the area at that time. Now we come to the difficult bit. That area by the very virtue of it's position on the map was open to to the world and all its races.I think that Jesus was not predominantly of any one particular racial type not obviously black white or oriental.Just a bit of it all, well mixed ,as is the type in that area.He would have undoubtedly been dark skinned ,rather than light due to the predominance of darker skinned races.-----nothing like the blond haired blue eyed pictures I was shown at Sunday school!

There is one extremely old (Greek?) Orthodox icon of Jesus, which is said to depict Jesus as he really looked...the description of his features were handed down by word of mouth apparently. In it he is swarthy with a long face, dark eyes and dark hair, not very handsome and definitely not the blue-eyed blonde of some film-makers' imaginations! Don't know what the icon is called or where it is , perhaps someone else will know something more about this. Icons of his mother Mary also depict her as having a dark olive skin, black hair etc.

His mother would have been of middle eastern decent, light brown skin and dark hair. So it makes sense that Jesus would have had similar color. Also since Judas had to identify him with a kiss when he was handed over to his captors, Jesus must have looked like all the other men of that region.

Color? Do you mean like from a box of crayons? It would be better stated if you asked what race.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem, therefore the Middle East and would be of the same color as anyone in the Middle East. What *colour* is that???

Jesus was from Nazareth, so even though I'm not sure what "color" Nazarenes were/are, I'm sure he looked like the local Nazarenes. I'm sure it was darker skinned, like most Middle Eastern's skin tones. Where some people get off saying He was black, or white I'm not sure.

Even more disturbing is why someone would want to "prove" Jesus' skin color and making it a racial thing. Wasn't what He preached about love and understanding God better?

Look, there was a Jesus just like there was a Mohammed, but he wasn't the Paul Bunyan we all are lead to believe.

He was middle Eastern. Maybe olive coloring but we don't really know what color, now do we? Dark olive, light olive... brown... not very dark... but, here is a link talking about why his image is white, today.

Jesus was from the middle east, so it is obvious that he would be dark skinned with black hair. Since the most common race in that region is from Palestine, they all have similar features.

Unlike the picture of the last supper.

Same coloring as Saddam Hussein. They were from the same general region - although the image on the Shroud of Turin looks like Osama bin Laden.
