You shouldn't care about everyone else's opinions but your own when it comes to your relationship with your biological father. Everyone's circumstances are different! You have to live your own life and be a man and tell everyone else to butt out and mind their own business. Find out for yourself what your father is all about and just take it one day at a time.

My half brother found my dad when my brother was about 35 years old and they have a great relationship now. They just took it one day at a time and things worked out for them because both of them wanted the relationship. My current boyfriend now found his biological father about 10 years ago and they also have a great relationship.

If you and your father really want to have a relationship, maybe it can work out for you too. Just don't let no one or nothing stop you from doing what is best for you.

Let him file....you have a right to know your father. My daughter is adopted and she found her birth mother and father. She and her mother are great pals. Her father, who has since passed away, was rather a jerk but she wanted to get to know him so she talked to him on the phone, then she met him for coffee and they talked more, went on day trips that were interesting to both of them. Looking at photos of you growing up and photos of him and what he has done in the past 20 years. Just do things with your dad that you both enjoy and don't worry about your half brother. He has no right to tell you what you can and cannot do. I am a bit confused about one part of your statement....is it your biological father that is married to a woman and they are the parents of the boy?

What kind of lawsuit did he threaten you with? I've never heard of anything so ridiculous. If you want to get to know your father better that is between you and your father. As long as your father wants to get to know you there is nothing your jealous brother can do about it. Call your dad and tell him what your half brother is doing. Your dad should talk to him and tell him that you're his son too and that there's room in his life for both of you. Good luck to you!

No-one can sue over getting to know your father better. What's she going to do, change your blood ties? Ha ha ha!

The best way to get to know him, if that's your choice, is spend time with him. Simple as that. Go out, have coffee, talk on the phone, do things that one or both of you like.

Think you have a typo in that.
Anyway, what in the world is he going to sue you for? What could he sue you for?
I'm not a lawyer but I don't think you can be sued for talking to someone. As far as getting to know your father, talk to him, spend time with him. If having a relationship with you is important to him and you let him know its important to you then you will both be willing to overcome the obstacles that currently separate you.

What grounds do they have for a lawsuit? I don't think they could possibly win.

Call him, go out to eat with him, do stuff with him, just the way you get to know anybody else better.
