Why nursing? There are so many more worthy degrees to go for that won't cause you so much stress and anger in a job situation. If you HAVE to be in health care, try physical therapy. They make more than nurses. If you want to deal with patients, that's the safest way to go. You won't have to deal with their familes so much and you almost NEVER have to put up with MD's attitudes. You can also start your own business as a physical therapist. Nurses have to work under the supervision of a doctor and haven't had the grace of becoming so independent as having their own businesses.
You should also consider Pharmacy. They make a lot more money than nurses or PT's and can work just about anywhere. No MD's yell at them.
Respiratory Therapists are doing just as well as nurses, income wise. And they don't have to put up with families at all. Got problems? Call the nurse.
Yeah, you'll always have a job as a nurse. But you'll always be the scape-goat for the complaints. There's a nursing shortage FOR A REASON. It's a horrible job.

Sorry, i'm in Canada, yet in many circumstances this may be an same. NO, you won't be able to develop right into a nurse (RN or LPN) with out any medical useful palms on adventure. Any application providing which couldn't criminal and under no circumstances reliable. you may complete your *theoretical* analyze/classes on line at some colleges, and also you may earn a BScN if you're ALREADY a level (2 year) RN. All practicums and medical classes should be done on web site on the school or different placement. each and every now and then, an RN would take theory classes and get certification in a speciality section (i.e. psychological well-being) with out ever stepping foot in a school room. yet this basically applies to theory classes with out labs. solid success!

A friend chose a certain school for nursing because it was easy to get into, but it turned out it was very difficult to stay in. This is just a friendly warning so you don't make the same mistake of choosing a school just because it's easy to get into.
