"I am well aware that scarcely a single point is discussed in this volume on which facts cannot be adduced, often apparently leading to conclusions directly opposite to those at which I have arrived". Charles Darwin
Back in college I was a science major. So in my studies I explored Darwin's teachings. But the more I read the more I realized that he speculated an awful lot. In my several readings of Darwin's "one long argument", I noticed that he freely admitted that his case was not supportable by even one real live visible test case of evolutionary transformation of one species into another.
When Darwin wrote, near the end of his life, that "Not one change of species into another is on record ... We cannot prove that a single species has changed into another". So, Darwin chose to believe that one species could change into another in spite of his facts that all his live visible evidence was against it.
DARWIN WAS RIGHT to know that "I AM QUITE CONSCIOUS THAT MY SPECULATIONS RUN QUITE BEYOND THE BOUNDS OF TRUE SCIENCE".

Modern Science has proven that Darwin's 140 year old theory is scientifically impossible. Yet people tend to cling to this outdated theory.

There is no way that you studied Science in any great detail if you doubt Evolution and Natural Selection.... I take that back.... perhaps you have a theory based on evidence gathered that better describes the random mutations that occur in genetic code better than modern science.... I look foward to your thesis.

Yes, Darwin did stretch the boundaries of 19th century science, but 20th and 21st century science, particularly the reproduction of DNA molecules, has proven him right. DNA does not replicate itself with 100% accuracy. When a change in DNA sequences occur, this is called a mutation. Most of these mutations are minor gentic changes, but every once in a while, a genetic mutation can cause a radical change from one generation to the next. These mutations will either help or hinder an organisms chance at surviving in it's enviornment.

It really irks me when people speak of one species changing into another. These people are looking at the end product of evolution and trying to wrap their heads around it and not condsidering the bigger picture. From the other end, two very different organisms might have a common ancestor from which they came... like two cousins that look nothing alike, but both bear an uncanny resemblence to their grandmother, such is evolution. Lizards don't turn into cats, but somewhere down the line house cats and lions had a common ancestor as did lizards and frogs.... and guess what... all of them had a common ancestor even further back.

99% of the species that have ever existed are extinct. So let's say that a bird has mutated offspring and that offsping's offspring has another radical mutation. The middle bird dies out. There is a chance considering how radical a change the DNA has gone through that the original bird and the last mutant will not be able to reproduce. This means that through evolution, there is now a new species of birds out there. I've simplified this a lot but just imagine this occurig on a broader scale over many generations and over billions of years. This is how we've gotten all of the diversity in the world. Things don't neccessarily have to go in a straight line.

The fossil record, the genetic record, the geological record... all support the theory of evolution. Zoology, biology, botany, medicine, microbiology all have found the theory of evolution more useful than any other theory in explaining the facts they were presented with.
The theory does not stop with Darwin. It has been demonstrated to be the best explanation for what it set out to do time and time again. The only group of people in the industrialized world who still pig-headily believe that there is any real debate over this are the religious right in the United States. You tell a Canadian, an Australian, a Japanese, a Russian, A European or an educated Chinese that 35 percent of Americans still believe in creationism and they'll just give you a blank stare of disbelief. It is an embarrassment.
If you want to be Christians, be Christians. But please, get out of the Middle Ages already! The Pope accepts evolution. Why can't you?

Taking a quote about letters out of context and making it sound like it refers to Origin of the Species is dishonest in the extreme. So much that it makes me question your middle quote. As for the first one - surprise! Unlike religious texts, science did not stand still in the last 147 years. What was once just a scientific theory is now a theory and a fact, accepted by the entire world except for pockets of religious fanatics.

Let's start with the fossil record, shall we? The deepest sedimentary layers contain the oldest fossils, which also happen to be the simplest, most primitive creatures. Progressively higher layers contain fossils of progressively more complex organisms. The evidence could not be more obvious, except to religious fanatic buffoons.

Then there is the biological evidence. Do some research for a change; don't expect me to educate you here on Yahoo Answers.

Darwin set the path but the modern theory of evolution has evolved itself, and being tweaked here and there but it's always held up. It's generally accepted by the scientific community. Even many Creationists believe in microevolution because you can't really dispute it.

i posted recently updated facts on his studies that were posted from a none religious site just last year....the studies were finished in 2006....i even posted the web site so they could see for themselves...and i got reported for spam...the haters in here are scared that if there is a God...then they cant live the sinful lives that they love so much...they are scared that if its true they will face the wrath on Judgment Day...the Fear of God is real...and that's what they are afraid of...even though they don't believe in God....they will read the Bible that they believe is untrue...and then quote verses like they are facts and then use it against you when they don't believe in it...its unreal...science has so many flaws its unbelievable...science has killed so many people with its weapons...poisonous chemicals that its created...nuclear weapons that can destroy all of mankind...drugs that have caused many birth defects and the Doctors of science that kill milions of unborn chilren every year...46 milion abortions every year worldwide 126 thousand per day...yehh...science is really smart....

Darwin was essentially right not completely right. He was certainly right about there being evolution. It is without a doubt happening right before our eyes today and we don't need any missing links to prove it quite conclusively. Which of course should make the Christians think about tearing the book of Genesis out of the Bible and tossing it in the garbage. Of course they would toss the entire Bible In the garbage if they had a grain of sense. BB

NOTHING...and Isaiah 55:8-9 tells me thats OK

Not enough time for that kind of evolving, breaks thermodynamics laws, no fossils of evolving, fossil dating is inaccurate, plus it would make the Bible wrong, which is impossible.

Whenever science and G-d contradict, G-d gets my vote every time.

WHy would someone believe otherwise? I was an atheist 28 years, I believed in evolution because it justified my immoral life. If there was no G-d, I could keep sniffing coke and watching porn all day!

Evolution has been established science for a century (meaning that it can make predictions that turn out to be correct), and is now a proven fact (proof details on request). Which makes it something of an oddity among scientific theories, most of which are not provable, even though we know that they are correct.

Darwin wasn't always right. But there have been NUMEROUS studies regarding his theories that have been and continue to be supported. Those that have been disproved were replaced by more scientific studies that have been proved or supported.
