ok for this is a question for my taxes im filing this year. for the first 6 months of 2006 I lived in Arkansas which their is state taxes their that you have to file then for the last 6 months of 2006 I have been living in Texas which from what I understand their is no state taxes here.....ok i'm filing my taxes my self on e-file so how do I file state taxes on arkansas if i am living in texas.....PLEASE HELP

you would have to file a Non-resident Arkansas tax return Form AR1000NR

Frankly, I would buy a program like TurboTax or TaxCut to have the calculations done automatically. You will be filing one federal return and one Arkansas part-year resident return. Unless you have a more complex return than most, either one of these programs will do the work for you as well as most tax preparers, and the total cost will be less than $50.

If you moved for work, and work paid for the move, I would recommend a tax professional, since your wages would likely reflect many items that you can deduct. Any competent Texas CPA could help you out.

u file a part year resident form for arkansas, u can get the form on the wed at the arkansas state site
