I'd like to take a trip to the eastern med, the middle east, and see what it's like. In the West, we read so much about it that it's common, but I want to see for myself what it's like on the ground. Also, I like to go swimming on the Med. I've been to San Rimo and it's cool.

My wife just returned this weekend from visiting our daughter for a month in Israel. She never heard a weapon fired! Israel is a beautiful country to visit as is Jordan and Egypt with many wonderful places to visit. I agree with Yasser and have read that Saudi Arabia is a lovely country but have not been there. (Maybe one day, Yasser, I hope.) If you have say a month then make Israel your base (contrary to what some think it isn't 'that' dangerous.) Go down to Sharm-el-shek, fish or scuba in the Red Sea, go over into Jordan, see Amman, visit Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Ein Geti, the Pyramids, the Egyptian National Museum. The recommendation to visit either Arab country is made with more trepidation than the one for visiting Israel because of recent intelligence which indicates that some extremists groups may be planning to kill Western tourists, particularly in Egypt where it has happened before.

It's great idea to come here. I know we have some pretty bad publicity, and you'll see it's nothing like the news shows.
I second David, you're most welcome in Israel! For the Mediterranean sea, check out Nahariya, Haifa, Caesariya, Netanya, Hertzeliya, Tel Aviv, Ashdod and Ashkelon. (I listed the cities from North to South.)
*If you're into it, surfing is really popular in Nahariya and Hertzeliya.
What you hear about in "the west" are the areas of Gaza, Samaria, and Judea. The Arabs there give us problems sometimes {and we even sacrificed Gush Katif, but ...(sigh)}. There are lots of settlements there, though and besides, Jerusalem is technically part of Judea.
**You've just got to visit Eilat. On the way you can stop by in Be'er Sheva and the old Nabatean Mamshit. The Galil (in the north) is gorgeous, too, with Safed, Tiberias, Nazareth and Metula. If you're here in the winter, don't miss skiing on the Hermon mountain.
Outside of Israel: My uncle told me Amman in Jordan is nice, sort of like Haifa...sort of. Akaba I heard is also beautiful, with a Nabatean history. I'd love to visit Egypt and see the pyramids, Lebanon's got a shaky situation with the Shiite's and Suni's but it's also a pretty country. Oh yeah, they've got a bunch of terrorists who want to kill us. Syrians..mm same thing.
So that's Israel and the countries surrounding it (but that's not all of the middle-east).

You want to see what Palestine is like? Watch the movie "Paradise Now". It's a true movie which takes place in Palestine and all the Palestinians are in it. The two main actors are real Palestinians. It's very good. And you'll see how Palestinians are forced to live because of the occupiers who are in our land.

I'm sorry my friend! I'm from Saudi Arabia (yes you will see that country on Yahoo answers) but there is not such a place as Palestine!!!!!! (Look on yahoo answers under travel... i didn't find any place as palestine) Israel is for the Jewish people and we got to respect that! we Muslims have ALLOT more land then them! we should move out and give them the 1% of the middle east they deserve!!
