It's pretty simple, according to people who call themselves ghost hunters: You have to believe in ghosts to see them.

The more familiar truism, of course, is "seeing is believing." But ghost hunters have turned it around on purpose. In their ongoing debate with skeptics, they've upended the cliché and used it as a weapon to bolster their case for the existence of spooks.
It depends on which side of the haunted fence you're on. If you believe in ghosts, there's nothing wrong with it. But if you're a skeptic, it's a huge problem.

Find one that's right for you."If you go in to a place that's supposed to be haunted, you're tuned up [to believe] already," explains world-famous skeptic James Randi, who has promised to pay $1 million to anyone who can show evidence of a paranormal, supernatural, or occult event under controlled circumstances.

So far, no one has won the money, although Sylvia Browne, who claims she is a psychic, agreed in September 2001 to put her powers to the test.

You could have a chance to win that money, too--if only you could find a ghost. So how do you go about doing that?

So Sci-fi there is a show called Ghost Hunters. Plumbers by day ghost hunters by night kinda thing. Its a reality show. One of the guys is a hardcore skeptic. They get evidence every week but the problem is, what is a controlled situation?

I've been haunted all my life. All but one place that I've lived in has had medium to extreme ghostly activity. I've seen plenty of things but never when I expected it. If you want to see ghosts they usually aren't there.

I've found though, often ghosts or spirits are aware of those who have the ability to see them (some people do, some don't) and especially when those people are thinking with an open mind. There's been plenty of times when I was thinking of something supernatural though nothing to do with ghosts or in any way scary and a ghostly occurrence would happen out of nowhere. A lot of my ghostly encounters have been while asleep or in between sleep and awake. There's no set way to see a ghost. It happens or it doesn't.

Adversely, people with closed minds probably won't see a thing. There is a part of your awareness that you are often taught to close off as a child that either allows you to see or keeps you from seeing other worldly things.

There is no ghost hunter conspiracy to bend old sayings and warp public perception of the unknown or misunderstood. Its not about believing, its about having an open mind. If you mind is truly open then you are likely to see things, especially in the most likely of places, not just "haunted houses".

LOL Changing a skeptic's mind is almost as easy as changing diapers on a pissed off panther.
Ghosts, spectres and spirits can be seen in the periphery. People see them all of the time then look directly at it and it wont register.
They think they are nuts or "seeing things" and that as they say is that.
Every year there are some 20,000 vehicle accidents that are caused by something in the road. That of course was not there.

James Randi is so extremely Skeptical that he could be marked a zealot. Not to mention he wont give up the cash.

I have a huge selection of photos of specters and spirit orbs. I guess I could show them to him and let his Panel of experts comb through them. Think he'll give up the money?

"As of April 1, 2007, we will require two major qualifications of all those who will be eligible. First, any applicant will be required to have a media profile. By that, we mean that there must be some media recognition – a television interview, a newspaper account, some press write-up, or a reference in a book, that provides details of the claimed abilities of the applicant....The second requirement will be that the applicant must provide an endorsement of an academic nature. That means some sort of validation from an appropriately-qualified academic"

LOL I guess not

It is simple there are those who can not see ghost and will never be able to see ghost regardless of the circumstance. To them there is no such thing as a ghost and I can easily understand this. Then there are a few like myself who know for a certainty there are ghost. I have been speaking with them since I started speaking with my grandfather shortly after he died when I was five years old. I can see them just as clearly as I can see a live person. If I did not know they were dead I could not tell the difference by looking. Of course they have no substance. BB

To understand what a ghost is from the bible perspective, is that to acknowledge what the bible says about when people die.

The bible says when a person dies, their thoughts perish, and they are conscious of nothing. Since Satan is the ruler of this world, he has convinced an untold number of other angels to be in opposition to God, the teaching of ancestor worship and living as a spirit person haunting is a Babylon teaching.

So to get to the point, ghosts are not dead loved ones, but they are demons tricking people. To believe a person never dies, actually knowing or not, you are rejecting the sacrifice that Jesus did when he died and then he himself was resurrected. Which is what Satan really wants you to believe until God Judges the earth.

See its simple, If you reject the ransom Jesus paid for you, You choose to reject Gods purpose for you which is to live forever. Satan has fooled millions in the theory of ghosts. So if you want to see a ghost get involved in spiritualism and things of that nature.

I don't think seeing ghosts is a learned thing. I think you either see them or you don't.

I have never seen any but I have heard ghosts many many times. At the time it is VERY scary but later on when I think about it I think it is cool to have been able to hear them.

I haven't heard anything lately though.... but I do get the feeling of someone watching me from time to time in one room in the house I am living in now.
