If Adam and Eve were the first humans to live..... were they Neanderthals. Or where did the Neanderthals come in.
Also where did the Dinosaurs come in, before?

Well, if you believe the literal text of Genesis, what I'm about to say won't help you. I believe Genesis is a story meant to illustrate a relationship to God, not an historical text.

This being said:
The dinosaurs were around way before mankind, hundreds of millions of years before, in fact.
Neanderthal man was contemporary to man, but not an ancestor of man - Neanderthal man was a cousin of modern man and became extinct early in the human era (3 to 2 million years ago).

Hope this helps.

It is no wonder you’re confused, if some of the answers above are what passes for education in some parts of the world. Opinionated kitten is mostly right, except for the timeframe of the extinction of Neanderthals. LOL is guessing. Catpaws is basically on track, except Cro Magnons were, in fact, early modern humans (Homo sapiens) and lived at the same time as the last of the Neanderthals (Homo neanderthalis). Bubbeh is assuming Neanderthals were ancestors of modern humans which they weren’t (although there's some unproven speculation that they might have interbred). Peter S takes a theological view, which is okay by me.

Tjreamer is absolutely spot on, and took notice in biology class. Joe Cool is talking reasonably sophisticated theology, I think. Not sure about noonecanne or Scythian. If you take Sam’s explanation about Satan, then there’s not much I can discuss. Visit Serena’s Creationist websites if you like, but you’ll find them confusing till you understand the basic science they are misrepresenting. Marcus R is mistaking the many Neanderthal remains found for Piltdown Man, which was, in fact, a hoax.

Sir readalot obviously does, and I would award best answer either to him/her or tjreamer. Lafeevert.. needs to learn more about what the fossil evidence can and can’t show, danspdg is basically backing Serena, and sheepinarowboat is pushing some creationist “theories” that have no, repeat no, scientific backing.

Whew! Pretty confusing, huh? Why not consult a basic biology or anthropology textbook (not creationist propaganda)? Or even start with wikipedia? Note that "Watchtower" is a religious magazine published by the Jehovah's witnesses, not a scientific publication.

Dinosaurs are the only thing that can be proved.
"The Missing Link" is what will prove the existence of neanderthals thus disproving Adam and Eve.

Evolutionary thinking and the story of Adam and Eve don't really mesh well...
My understanding of Neanderthals is that they were modern day human beings who lived to biblical ages, affecting the shape of their skulls. As a human ages, we all grow larger eyebrow ridges and elongated skulls from front to back. If you take a look at senior citizens and then pictures of them when they were younger, this can be seen. People in pre-flood times lived hundreds and hundreds of years. After the flood you notice a slow steady drop in the age expectancy until modern times. So naturally those that lived to hundreds of years would have very high eyebrow ridges and sloping forheads and elongated skulls front to back.

Dino's were on the ark. Reptiles are unique in that as long as they are alive, they continue to grow. They never stop growing as long as they have room and remain alive. I imagine reptiles in biblical times were enormous due to their great ages, which also I imagine took a dip after the flood. Also after a world wide flood, it would make sense that there was a drastic temperature change. The lower temperatures could not have allowed such huge cold blooded animals to survive. After a cold night, such mammoth weight and size would take all day to heat up and naturally by that time it would start getting dark again. Dino's didn't fair well after the flood. So died out.

The Bible does not teach evolution.Adam and Eve were created as perfect human beings.
Evolution is a ploy of Satan's to confuse and mislead people into believing that God has nothing to do with creation,or that there is no God.There is no scientific evidence confirming or connecting man to apes.
Dinosaurs on the other hand could have been created during the fifth and sixth periods or 'days',when the Bible says that God made "flying creatures" and "great sea monsters"(Gen.1:20-24)The vast array of dinosaurs with their huge appetites would have been appropriate considering the abundant vegetation that evidently existed in their time. When the dinosaurs had fulfilled their purpose,God ended their life. But the Bible is silent on how he did that or when.We can be sure that dinosaurs were created by Jehovah for a purpose, even if we do not fully understand that purpose at this time. They were no mistake,no product of evolution.
I needed to add that "Snout" must be some kind of genius to be confident enought to ridicule everyone elses answers, yet even his own is based on opinion and heresay.Yet the Bible plainly sets it all out for all to be able to know the truth

The creation story of Gen. 1 is based on an earlier Ugaritic story: The Gilgamesh Epic w/ assorted earlier fragments. It is multi-layered in meaning, but to answer your questions.
As you read Gen. 1 and Gen. 2 the 2nd creation story, you will note that there is no claim to "exclusivity" in A & E's creation. Indeed Adam is equivalent to Humanity and Eve to Mother of Living. It is an attempt of early science(!) they have a pretty good idea of the pre-historic lab and religion to interpret and understand themselves.
dinosaurs were - the when depends on when you want to interpret humanity - cro magnum or whatever.
Good questionn - keep searching, its all there.
By the way, note Gen. 1:1 Chaos brooded over by the Spirit - feminine until God - masculine creates order and thus the possibility of both life and....science.

Neanderthal women except for a minute few were sterile and could not reproduce. The Neanderthal man ,following his natural manly inclinations, bopped other women over the head with a club and dragged them off to his cave and had babies for the neanderthal man was not sterile. Finally they interbred with everybody else until their strain died out.

This is trying to combine science with religion. If you are trying to do that, I'd say that Adam and Eve were primitive. Their primitive nature would explain for the downfall of human kind. They were just stupid because they were primitive so now all of man kind suffers. I'd say that dinosaurs came before Adam and Eve.
