We are accustom to saying that we perm our hair, but the proper term is relaxing. Perm is just a shorter way of saying Permanent Waving aka Jheri Curl, so when you are posting questions asking about relaxers dont say "perm". For those of you who knew that this is not for you.

oh thanxs someone agrees with me!!! i use to argue with my friends in school saying a perm is diffrent then a relaxer. a perm does curl ur hair and i remeber a white teacher of mine told me she perms her hair and it gets curly

Yes the diffrence between them is a perm curls your hair and a relaxer straightens your hair.
