Ambulances can reduce crimes when a criminal is in the act of committing a crime and cannot differentiate between the lights and sirens of police or other emergency vehicles such as ambulances. Thus, this deters the thug from proceeding with their crime in progress, for they are scared out of their minds with all those already outstanding warrants for their arrest. In a recent poll of active criminals surveyed, it was shown that 3 out of 5 criminals were deterred from fully carrying out a criminal act because they heard a siren wailing in the distance and saw flashing lights they thought was an ensuing response to their legally prohibited actions. And don't be fooled by those cable vans, those are your regional undercover ambulances running on empty just waiting to enforce the law any way they can so they can collect the cash to fill their tanks for successful crime reduction rates!
