I have the worst time falling asleep so I have read so many articles on tips to fall asleep. I read that a warm shower helps a person fall asleep for 2 reasons. 1. It is relaxing in the warm water. 2. when you leave the shower, your body temp drops b/c of the cooler temp outside the shower. This drop in body temp is supposed to help you go to sleep.
Does it always work? Not always for me! But more often than not!

Whether showering or bathing in warm water they usually are too stimulating to be able to fall asleep right away.

Depends on your usual schedule. If you use a shower in the mornings to wake you, then a shower at night will do just that...wake you up. If you find showers soothing and make you sleepy, then a warm shower might help you sleep.
