Simple, not ornate.

I was brought up in Christian Brethren. I think the cross was very simple copper one. No gory Jesus dying like the Catholics do.
Simple wooden pews, joined together in groups of 4 chairs, they could fold up against the wall, or be moved around in different setups. I remember the men of the church one weekend having a carpenty session in my Dad's basement to make hymnal holders for the chairs.

for the Sunday "morning meeting" there were four sections all facing the centre, where there was a table with the bread and wine....and the collection bags. 2 deacons would divide up the wine and bread and it would be passed hand to hand and shared among the baptised. Followed by the collection bag. Acapella hymn singing and spontaneous preaching by the men of the church at that one.

for Sunday School they were formed into several smaller squares, depending on how many age groups they divided up into classes.

For Sunday evening meeting, they were lined up like regular pews. 30 mins of prayer, hymn singing, a soloist followed by the preacher. A different one each week usually, men from the congregation. My dad was an elder and took his turn regularly. Sometimes there'd be a visiting preacher from another chapel, or a missionary who was on a slideshow/money raising tour. There'd usually be a "tea" for them after.

There was a raised stage at one of the long ends, with a pew, and a baptismal underneath. Every couple of months there'd be a baptism after the Sunday night service. Full immersion baptism, and again with the accapella singing of hyms after each one got dunked. We did have piano and/or organ for Sunday school, and the evening meeting though.

I think there were a few paintings of different biblical scenes here and there, but nothing much in the way of decor that I recall, just wood panelling.

The building will be pretty spartan: pews for the congregation separated perhaps by a middle aisle. The front will be raised by a few steps (like a dais). Against the front wall facing the congregation will be a plain cross, a pulpit before or beside it where the preacher stands to deliver the sermon. There may be a space for the choir. Fresh flowers in great vases will also be liberaly displayed up front.

Go to your nearest hospital, and ask if there's a chapel where you can pray. They'll tell you where it is, and unless you're in a religious hospital, it will be non-denominational. It will be quiet, with places to sit. There may be stained glass. Often there's dark paneling. Sometimes there are several religious books of different religions.

Pretty Plain... NO expensive statues, no golden alter, no big candle sticks, no comfortable pews,...

Just a nice place for the WORSHIPERS to VISIT WITH THE GOD/JESUS!

Our "chapel" is a school gym.....over 200 meet each Sunday at 11:00AM!

Basically the same as a Baptist chapel. At least the ones I've been to.

Plain vanilla. Needs some votive-candle racks, a few statues of the Blessed Virgin and a huge life-sized Crucifix.

It depends on what you look at.

True there are no statues and icons and other things to see but you can be sure there's a whole lot of God, His Son Jesus and His Holy Spirit.

Not much to see with the eyes but a whole lot to see with the heart.
