It is better to stay warm so your body can use its energy to fight the virus. It has to work double duty if it has to try to stay warm also.

When you have cold you must use warm water for every thing. Keep your chest warm by wearing warm cloths. Unless it is winter time, it may not be necessary to close the entire body.

But, remember when you have fever, you should allow the body temperature to leave through the skin easily, by allowing the skin to expose to the environment. Keep the windows open for fresh air to enter.( But no A/C)

Do you mean when you have a fever? If so wear enough to stay comfortable. Don't wear to many (try to sweat out the fever) because this could raise your body temp more. Wearing to little could cause you to get chilled. Both can be dangerous. Take some Motrin, Tylenol, etc to help lower the fever and help take away the hot/cold flashes.

Depends on if you are running a fever or not. If you are running a fever you should not bundle up.

For All Fevers:
Give cold fluids orally to prevent dehydration. (Reason: good hydration replaces sweat and improves heat loss via skin) Adults should drink 6-8 glasses of water daily.
Dress in 1 layer of lightweight clothing and sleep with 1 light blanket.
For fevers 100-101 F (37.8-38.3 C), this is the only treatment and fever medicine is unnecessary.

Definitely try to stay as warm as possible. Especially your head and feet. Those two places are where most of your body warmth escapes. I'll let you in on a little secret...Take a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, lemon juice and honey(together) every day.

for flu it is recommended that the body temperature should go down, which means you cannot wrap yourself too much.
But once the temp subsided then of course cloth appropriately, try and avoid your back being expose to cold wind though

obviously wear alot. do you know why you have a fever when your sick, because your body is becoming active and so is your blood. you must contribute to this and also keep your body warm. obviously, when your temperature goes too high, like around 40(celcius) it would be better to keep the temperature low, because that is too dangerous.
